YMCA Magic Monday fundraiser a success!
On behalf of the YMCA of Northern Michigan we would like to express our sincere thank you to the donors and attendees of our Magic Monday fundraising event on October 26th at the Inn at Bay harbor. Through the support of 94 different community businesses and individuals, along with the assistance of 25 volunteers, and the many people who attended the event, we were able to raise $23,000 towards our goal of $50,000 for the 2009 Strong Kids Campaign.
The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is a community based fundraising effort that directly benefits the lives of the children living in and around our community. Not only does it help provide safe, fun and affordable programs, it also assures that any child, regardless of a family’s financial circumstance can participate.
The YMCA of Northern Michigan was founded in 2003 and is located at 622 Howard St. in Petoskey. More than 2,500 kids are involved in programs and activities provided by your YMCA each year. Opportunities include values-based sports programs, Camp Petosega-a summer day camp, and the Y-Center-with afterschool and weekend activities. We continue to help build strong kids, strong families, and a stronger community.
