Let’s make this a farewell Chappy will cherish forever! \nFacts about Alligator Snapping Turtles: \n\nCurrently listed as a threated species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).\nThe Largest freshwater turtle in North America.\nTheir powerful jaws have a bite force of 1\,000lbs.\nAdult males can weigh up to 249lbs.\nThis is a nocturnal species. They are most active at night and will scavenge or hunt for food.\nThey have an appendage on their tongue that resembles a worm to lure in prey.
