Community support makes the Y possible
From modest beginnings nine years ago, our local Y has grown to make a big difference. Over three hundred kids will attend day camp this summer at Camp Petosega, and our much-loved after-school program continues to grow. We’ve teamed up with more and more local organizations to offer a wider range of programs. Over sixty kids from Northern Michigan traveled to Lansing this year as participants in the YMCA’s Youth in Government program. It’s all part of our mission of developing character.
But our dream is much bigger. We’re working to become a truly regional Y by expanding popular programs to more hometowns. Most exciting of all, we’re eager to pursue the vision of a true community center with affordable fitness and family programs for all ages, incomes, interests, and denominations.
To do so, the YMCA of Northern Michigan needs your support. We hope you’ll share this vision. In tough times, when more families than ever depend on us, and funding is harder to come by, your generous support makes all the difference. The Y is truly a community resource, and we’re stronger together.
